How to prove Pytagorean Theorem???



Since the fourth century AD, Pythagoras has commonly been given credit for discovering the Pythagorean theorem, a theorem in geometry that states that in a right-angled triangle the square of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle), c, is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides, b and a—that is, a2 + b2 = c2.

Here is the steps to prove Pythagorean Theorem...

1. make 4 congruent triangles




2. Then, arrange them become rhombus




3. Look the yellow one, the side=c


4. So we know that the area of rhombus + the area of 4 right triagles are the area of square

Pythagoras was an Ionian Greek philosopher, mathematician, and founder of the religious movement called Pythagoreanism. Most of the information about Pythagoras was written down centuries after he lived, so that very little reliable information is known about him. He was born on the island of Samos, and may have travelled widely in his youth, visiting Egypt and other places seeking knowledge.
